As the State’s hub for economic growth, IEDC brings a holistic perspective on how education and workforce programs contribute to employer competitiveness and economic vitality.

Workforce supply is a top priority for companies doing business across Indiana; talent shortages directly affect attraction, retention and expansion. IEDC’s quasi-governmental structure enables quicker mobilization of resources and a prime vantage point to determine how, and to what extent, workforce pipelines align with employer needs.

I WIL supports the work and accelerates the momentum of Indiana agencies. The Lab will operate in close collaboration with partners including Indiana’s:

• Management Performance Hub (MPH)
  MPH facilitates partnerships and data initiatives across state agencies by serving as a key privacy, governance, and security layer.
• Department of Workforce Development (DWD)
  DWD is already advancing enhanced wage records, now capturing key data fields for approximately half of all wage entries, enabling deeper analyses of program effectiveness and career pathways.
• Department of Education (IDOE)
  IDOE is already strengthening high school redesign, work-based learning, and postsecondary pathways through a focus on collaboration, innovation, and real-world readiness
  
• Commission for Higher Education (CHE)
  CHE is already prioritizing access, attainment, affordability, and alignment through program review.

Despite the significant progress of existing agencies, Indiana still lacks a unified, macro level view of how collective efforts translate into outcomes for Hoosiers. IWIL fills this cross-functional gap. I-WIL’s external partners include:

• Indiana Chamber of Commerce
• CEOs of Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP)
• Regional economic and workforce organizations
• Institutions of higher education
• Strada Education Foundation
  Strada is I-WIL's philanthropic partner, having awarded the Lab a $1 million grant to support its implementation and early operations/growth. Strada will also assist I-WIL with developing a year-one research agenda, short-term analytics demo projects, and ongoing support.
